Horsemanship 101 [2 days]

These two days are designed to introduce those of you who have little/no experience or confidence with horses to some gentle and safe equine friends . This is a wonderful opportunity for all of you who would like to familiarise yourselves with horses while spending time in the countryside and is ideal for those with no prior experience to “get a taste” and may spark your interest to embark on the Monty Roberts Introductory Certificate of Horsemanship.

Come and watch the horses enjoying themselves and learn how they interact with each other and maybe play..!

Horsemanship 101 includes learning to approach a horse safely, becoming comfortable around horses in the field and in the stable, as well as learning how to groom and tack-up properly.  You will be introduced to working with the Dually™ halter to learn ways to apply Monty’s force-free training concepts on the ground while learning how to lead a horse correctly. This course is designed for complete beginners, who have little or no previous experience with horses, or those who have a fear/phobia of horses. If you are comfortable haltering and leading a horse then the Ground Manners course may be more suitable.

You will have the opportunity to watch Chris Morris, Certified Monty Roberts Instructor, work with the horses and see for yourself how important it is to become acquainted with the basics of horsemanship. This is an excellent chance to become more comfortable around horses prior to signing-up for one of our Join-Up® courses or the Monty Roberts Introductory Training Program.

WE ALSO OFFER THIS COURSE ON A PRIVATE 1:1 BASIS.
